Library Open House, April 23rd

In honor of National Library Week please join us for the annual North Gorham Public Library Open House on Saturday, April 23rd, 10 am – 1 pm. Come sit a spell, enjoy a piece of pie and cup of coffee.

National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all.

The theme for National Library Week 2022, “Connect with Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes—in addition to books. Most importantly libraries also connect communities to each other. Overall, the theme is an explicit call to action—an invitation for communities to join, visit, or advocate for their local libraries.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and observed in libraries across the country each April. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.

Pies are made by our generous patrons. For more info or to donate a pie please call 207-892-2575 or email libng@north-gorham.lib.me.us.
